With Fashion, director Madhur Bhandarkar has surely kept one thing straight, it really has fashion at its best. The three leading ladies look superb, while the rest of the cast have been dressed up to the mark as well. The story of Fashion revolves around three models of the Fashion world, Shonali Gujral (Kangana Ranaut), Janet (Mugdha Godse) and Meghna Mathur (Priyanka Chopra).

Shonali (Kangana) opens the show playing a scheming supermodel, who is soon seen heading to down the road of fame and glam, all thanks to her addiction. And very soon, this addiction then makes her end up in a rehab for quiet some time.

Shonali’s loss turns out to be Meghna’s (Priyanka) gain. Meghna is a small town girl with supermodel dreams in her eyes. And within no time grows on to become the top model of the Fashion Industry, courtesy industry tycoon Abhijit Sareen. Soon this glam-sham gets onto to this small town girl and she ends up insulting everyone around her, her friends, her boyfriend Manav (Arjan Bajwa) and even the hotshot Abhijit, who in turns terminates her contract, bringing her down, with no work and no friends.
Giving in to alcohol and smoke, Meghna ends up doing something regretful, which in turn helps her realize the mess she has put herself into. Heading back to her hometown, Meghna gets herself some psychological help, and with the encouragement from her parents, once again heads back to Mumbai to start afresh.

Broke by all means, Meghna is nevertheless prepared to start new with everything, her career, her relationships and her image. It is here that Shonali (Kangana) makes a come back, but only to be seen in her worst, roaming on the streets of Mumbai. Meghna spots her and makes it her responsibility to help Shonali recover, in course, finding her lost self and spirit.

However, with this serious drama, Fashion has some spicy moments as well, to offer to its viewers. And yes, here is when the most “true to life” depiction comes into play, as you get a glimpse of some wardrobe malfunction, well-known casting couch, shocking gay love and backstage drama as well.
